Progress Updates
Since its inception on September 1, 2023, our Housing Resource Outreach program has made significant strides in empowering families and strengthening neighborhoods. As we continue on this meaningful journey, we want to share the progress we've made so far:
September 1, 2023: We proudly launched the Housing Resource Outreach program, marking the beginning of a transformative initiative. The team worked diligently on the initial planning and structuring of workshop sessions, ensuring we could deliver impactful sessions to the community.
September 15, 2023: A major milestone was achieved as we successfully conducted our first informational session in Downtown. It was heartwarming to see 30 families attending and actively engaging in the discussions.
October 1, 2023: Expanding our reach was crucial, and we took action by adding two new workshop locations in the North and West neighborhoods. This strategic move aimed to ensure that housing resources were accessible to a broader audience.
October 20, 2023: Celebrations were in order as we proudly reached a milestone - 100 families educated about housing resources. The positive feedback we received from participants further motivated us to keep pushing forward.
November 5, 2023: To foster even stronger ties within the community, we initiated a partnership with local community centers. This collaboration allowed us to host more sessions and reach an even larger audience.
November 25, 2023: In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we organized a special workshop, offering one-on-one housing counseling sessions to provide personalized support and guidance to families in need.
December 10, 2023: To secure the future of our program, we launched a donation drive with the aim of funding more workshops in the upcoming year. The support from our community members has been truly heartwarming.
December 31, 2023: As we approached the end of the year, we celebrated a significant achievement - 250 families had attended our workshops. The impact we've had on the lives of these families motivates us to work even harder in the future.
January 15, 2024: We kicked off the new year with a bang, expanding our workshop locations to six. This expansion allowed us to offer housing resources to even more neighborhoods, promoting inclusivity and community involvement.
February 5, 2024: Recognizing the importance of community engagement, we introduced a volunteer program, inviting local residents to contribute and support the initiative. This step allowed us to build a more connected and caring community.

Implementing Organization
Queens Community House
Project Description
This initiative seeks to empower Queens parents from low-income families; parents who are non-English speakers, as well as parents who are first or second-generation immigrants. Our goal is to enhance parent wellness and stability for commonly marginalized Queens families. QCCN will conduct in-person and virtual outreach with parents to assess their needs and link them to effective resources. Monthly educational events and information sessions will be hosted addressing high interest parenting topics. QCCN will also develop an online Parent Resource Directory and coordinate a (non-emergency) Parent Help Line to guide Queens parents in need of referrals for childcare, educational, medical, behavioral, mental health, legal, vocational, or social services.
