Voter Language Assistance

The NYC Civic Engagement Commission provides language assistance to voters with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) during elections. At present, the Voter Language Assistance (VLA) Program covers language services at select poll sites in the following languages: 

Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin), French, Haitian Creole, Italian, Korean, Polish, Russian, Urdu, and Yiddish.

Upcoming Elections and ServicesFor the November 2024 General Election, the VLA Program will provide language services for: First, visit the Find My Poll Site (External

• Early Voting: Saturday, November 2nd and Sunday, November 3rd 
• Election Day: Tuesday, November 5th

First, visit the Find My Poll Site (External Link) and enter your address to find your voting location. Once you have identified where you can vote, visit the Early Voting Service Map or Election Day Service Map to know if language services are provided at your voting location.

Please note that your Early Voting location may be different from your Election Day location, and the location might have changed since you last voted. 

Important Dates for the November 2024 General Election:

Last day to register to vote online or by mail is October 26, 2024.

Last day to register to vote in-person at your county Board of Elections Office is November 4, 2024.

If your mailing in your ballot make sure it receives a postmark no later than November 5, 2024.

For Early Voting, submit your ballot to your early voting poll site between October 26 - November 3, 2024.

For in-person voting, submit your ballot at your poll site location or your county Board of Elections Office no later than 9pm on Election Day, November 5th 2024.
